Holy crud you can tell that the Belgians took a lot of inspiration from there version of the BAR when they were designing the FN FAL the Belgian BAR almost looks exactly like a early model of a FAL.

It's funny that the other countries that used the BAR made more improvements to the weapon than the US military.

Ah yes the BAR, good rifle, however has a nasty rep for jamming. Good work Old Boy.

The particular problem with the BAR jamming was the spring in the box magazine, the tension was such that if you put more than 18 rounds in the mag, it would double feed jamming the weapon. Even though the factory states that the magazine held 20 rounds. An inconvenience at the range, terminal in combat conditions.

And the most ironic part is that the US version is probably the worst designed. The FN or Polish variant are probably the best from what I've read.

Yeah thats where I originally heard about the US versions faults as well. I've been binging his LMG videos lately. Really has gotten me intrigued about the Japanese Type 99.
