Description
Another image I reworked that I wasn't really happy with, although it got a warm reception for which I am thankful.I am curious to hear what you have to say about this second version.

Definitely a lot warmer feel to this one compared to the original

I think you did a great job man. It looks really good on the foreground. Enough detail. I think the light could be a bit less saturated and leave that "redish" glow to the lamps in the ceiling. Also, the endless corridor is a bit overwhelming, maybe putting a turn or a end corner could make the attention go AROUND the image instead of this eye that travels way to the eeeeeeeeeeend of the corridor and stays there. It's trapping.
the other thing is something that i see with lots of your images. that they're very cool and all, but too monochromatic. You might want to put some complementary colors there, like some light green or desaturated blues so gives you this refreshing look. take examples like Eytan Zana or Rich Anderson. Those guys get a nice feel.
Either way this is one of your best pieces in my opinion. Keep it up mate.

Thanks...I tried to make the rug a "comforting" presence without being too overwhelming.

Thanks. Overall I was going for a very cozy feeling...books also give us that feeling but in a different way.

The first version looked promising, but I like this one better. The colours are perfect for the mood. The warm yellow from the lamps is also there in the sunlight on the carpet. The scenery looks more comfortable and not so dark as in the first version. I love this one!

I like this picture. Didn't see first version, so I just kina like this hall, resembling library (books), museum (paintings and busts) Β and home (carpet). Thanks for sharing this!

From the first one I loved the style that the strong red colour was giving to the corridor, but this time the illumination is really good

Me too...but that is one of the great things about fantasy: it makes us dream which can be more powerful if it were real.

This is a wonderfully beautiful piece...but, (and I'm not sure if it's just me seeing things wrong--if it is, forgive me) it seems like the perspective is a little off in the column and windows closest to us on the right side. Everything else in the picture follows the perspective lines except for that column, and it confuses me a little.Β

The first piece seems alot more sketchier and the lighting affecting the surroundings looks unrefined. On this piece, the light really affects the environment, especially love the way it picks out the details on the frame of the painting to the left. Also, the lighting from the windows really draws your eye inward down the corridor, as opposed to the old piece, where it was the Red carpeted floor which took your eye in. All in all it was the lighting which took center stage here.

Thanks and spot on analysis...didn't think about those things so it's nice if someone points them out! I also like the off frame painting. Adds a bit of story.

The lighting has definitely improved. This one seems a bit more detailed than the other too.
You could give it a creepy shadow to throw people off.
