Description
Ok, since I get so many questions about tutorials and vides - here's an overdue tutorial of my Museum painting. I know it's not that exciting and that it's a bit out of date but I hope this will answer at least some of your questions! And btw, it is BIG so it's probably best to download and browse on your computer.
Stay tuned!

i'm saying it's perfect, that's why it looks 3d.
i just think that it's way too much info on one tutorial.

I don't understand that though First you say that you would like more information on a couple of questions, and then it is too much information?

ok i didn't explain myself quite clearly,
let me try to explain better.. ok this tutorial is huge with tons of information about coloring, composite, light, reflections, symmetrical scenery and perspective,
so there is a lot of information that isn't explained like the questions above, like the chairs, do you use a reference? how do you create textures? as sort but on the other hand i'm not sure if you can put all of these answers in one tutorial
your work kicks major ass there is NO doubt about that! but i think that this tutorial needs a bit more work.
break this tutorial into sectors, some that explain about the coloring, another one that explains why does this or that composite will work better or not seeing you create great images isn't enough, if this was a WIP on a paint then ok but this is a tutorial, that means step by step work with explanations.
if you disagree ok i'm quite fine with it, but this is my opinion.

uhm, old on a moment. I am not Andree Walling I just read his tutorial like you, but found it really well done, so that's why your comment on his tutorial confused me.
And honestly I don't think that a tutorial has to explain every little aspect about a piece It focused on a few things and maybe left out others. But really there are whole books on perspective and such, I think it'd be a bit much, if this tutorial would have to explain what makes a perspective and a composition interesting
If he used references for the chairs or not, does not really matter to you or me...if you can draw them without a reference, that's great, and if not, well you will have to use one That does not really have anything to do with the tutorial, I think

Thank you for that tutorial, Andree, I've been looking for a good step by step process particularly for interiors. I have one question, when it comes to deciding the colour scheme for the light you ahve set up, do you look at much reference to help you decide, or is it a trial and error process? Or is it one of those things that you've done a lot of so you just have a good feel for what's right? I've been trying to improve on my environmental stuff for a little while now, and finding the right colors for things is probably the hardest part for me so far. Any advice you could throw out would be awesome.

A basic 3d modelling and rendering understanding actually really put and edge to an artist. The first few steps is priceless, really educational and its free ^^ keep posting.

You can try building the basic architecture in Blender for instance. Then choosing the best angle and field of view would be easier. Cheers!

Thanks for sharing, Andree!
For me, tutorials arenΒ΄t just educational but also just interesting. Kinda like watching a sports match; youΒ΄re not playing yourself, but you still enjoy watching others do so
Really cool, hope to see more stuff like that soon!
Maybe an outside-enviro, like your last piece...?
