Description

1-Nome: Diabloceratops eatoni

2-Formation: Wahweap Formation 79.5 Million years ago

3-Length and height: 4 and 1.5 meters

4-Weight: 850 Kg

5-Diet: low growing plants

6-Classification: Neoceratopsia ==> Coronosauria ==> Chasmosauroidae ==> Euceratopsia  ==> Centrosauridae (Basalmost)

1-Nome: Diabloceratops cronusi ("Machairoceratops")

2-Formation: Wahweap Formation 79.5 Million years ago

3-Length and height: 4 and 1.5 meters

4-Weight: 850 Kg

5-Diet: low growing plants

6-Classification: Neoceratopsia ==> Coronosauria ==> Chasmosauroidae ==> Euceratopsia ==> Centrosauridae (Basalmost)

Note: Wikipedia dates D. cronusi from about 80.8 Mya and D. eatoni from 79.9, so they possibly didn't live together and eatoni is possibly a descendant of cronusi. But there is too little know species from the formation to infer a faunal change so I'm putting them as separate species living at the same time.

´Machairoceratops´ is roughly 1 million years older than Diabloceratops though.

Sure, I put it on the note, but I wasn't clear enough about my point.

The Retoring Laramidia Campanian Maastrichtian block of my series is not so much tied to the formations themselves and more the the time-span the species lived, with one formation being split in 2 different parts if it show faunal change (ex: Dinosaur Park in 2 Horseshoe Canyon in 3). This was done with Dinosaur Park, where there are at least 2 herbivore assembles and I split it in two.

If we knew more about the formation fauna and it showed that during this 1 million year difference the fauna of the area changed I would this in 2 parts (Lower and Upper Wahweap) with "Machairoceratops" in one and Diabloceratops in the other, but since much is unknown I'm not going to split the formation and put them into the same category Wahweap Formation ~79,5 million years ago.

I decided to "Lump" all the Laramidian Formation into a supper-group because I could talk about how dinosaurs evolved and the different contemporaneous ecosystems of the continent.

Quite nice! I like especially how their color schemes are similar, but still distinctive.
