What are you using to get the desktop being the real-time sun position at the current time?

It's a program called DesktopEarth, you can download it here: [link] .. .

Clicked this randomly and I'm wondering why you're not rolling with 4 gigs of RAM and Vista, which isn't terrible now that SP1 is out. Since 7 is on the way it doesn't make much sense now, but at the time Vista was a better option in my mind.

The extra 2 gig of ram I bought for the PC at the time were bad.. and I just ran out of money to buy two more, so .. those will be coming soon.
I ran Vista on my old machine (which is still in the house, just being used as a network machine), and I can tell you, it was a plague of epic proportions. 7 is so much better.. and it seems to run beautifully on 2 gig of ram.. .

I hear this from lots of people but I never had issues with it. Generally I heard it was good enough after SP1, so I'm interested in what happened.

A lot of peoples issue (including mine) was the fact that Vista is so overly bloated and it takes forever to to anything in the OS. It's also very, very slow.
Vista took about 45 seconds to boot on this machine, and 7 takes about 14.

Fair enough. I've always leaned towards things being more functional (and to be perfectly honest, pretty) than worrying about something taking 30 seconds more to get going, but I understand perfectly why that would annoy other people.
