Not sure about the rest of you, but I've always been a fan of wizards summoning demons and other assorted entities who have no business existing in our science-ruled dimension. In this case, I drew inspiration from Lovecraftian myth (the Shoggoth comes to mind) and thought I'd have the portal the being appears in looking less like a doorway and more like a shattering of our own reality.ΒCreated in 2B pencil.Β

This is why I don't like wizards, warlocks, or magic-users in general. They always have to summon some Eldritch horror from some nether plane of existence with the intent of bending it to their will. Like seriously, what could they possibly use an entity like that for?

The list of motivations is pretty long. They could be calling the entity out to destroy their enemies, to wreak chaos, to murder innocents, to upset the delicate balance of reality, to impart bits of forbidden knowledge, or to clean their filthy wizard house (housework miffs demons quite a bit I can tell you!).

I totally agree. There are tons of stories of wizards, cultists, the unwitting, or the extremely unlucky bringing something into this world that has no business being here in the first place. Their very presence warps our reality and causes pain and chaos. It also makes me wonder if the same thing holds true for the demon personally (like just being here in our dimension hurts them), which might explain why they're usually hostile.Β
