Description Another part of mrbill6ishere's ideas for me to go along with the other "what if locomotives of the Pennsylvania Railroad" is this 4-6-6-4 based off of the Q2 duplex that I have designated as a GG2. Interestingly, (although not shown here) was my fist attempt using the same sized wheels as the Q2 resulted in a locomotive that would have been slightly longer and bigger than the Union Pacific's Big Boy! however the drawing here has what I will call my standard Alco challenger frame. The reason I did not do the larger loco is due to the fact that the PRR's T1s, S1 and S2, and Q2s were already almost too big for most facilities especially in the Eastern half of the system. Along side it is my older (and slightly controversial) NYC 4-6-6-4 which might have also been made if the PRR made their own challengers.

Why was one of your designs controversial? And were do you get these from?

A while back I decided to make a list of what I thought in my opinion were the top 10 under rated steam locomotives. Looking through different types I came across a photoshopped or fan made picture of the NYC 4-6-6-4 on the bottom with a fan made discription... Now not doing my research properly I actually thought these locomotives existed and made that my number 1 spot on my list. (Which I still haven't fixed) As for the ideas for the PRR locomotives they are mostly based on other drawings that have been requested by mrbill6ishere for me to do renders of.

Heh. It's weird knowing that the Pennsy's only paralells to UP's famous 3 (844, 3985,, 4014) are all electrics. The only 4-8-4? The R1. The only 4-6-6-4? Technically GG1's. The only 4-8-8-4? Technically the Baldwin Centipedes, which were nearly Pennsy-exclusive.

beautiful engines, but going off PRR's designation system, it would've been GG-class.
