Really like this one! The tiny yellow lights visible in the core help to give it a real sense of enormity, and I love[/i] that background and the details parts around the midsection.

For a moment, I was wondering if it was more effective at mining than the Dead Space method of lifting up chunks of planets and picking them apart out of orbit.

Then I realized that you were going for something that only scooped up debris already in space.

It does feel like there's less potential for finds that way, but I could also see the use for one of these (I'd imagine these are sent out after any space battle where a round doesn't connect, and must crunch it before it hits anything with life on it).

It's like a space worm (Dune reference).... only instead of chewing up sand and anything living standing on the sand, it chews up asteroids. Awesomesauce

It's a great ship. Also a funny concept, but still believable regarding games ambience.
That would fit well in HW2, the Vaygr side.

An enormous automated ship sent into an asteroid belt to harvest all the many valuable resources. Unknown to the creators, the ship is also self upgradable. After several years, it has developed ways to harvest larger and larger asteroids. Soon enough, it found the biggest rock yet. The creators planet, and the creators entire species, were harvested.

I love the fact that there's no description as to what it does, or how it works.. just a name. So I'm interpreting this either 2 ways: the large red opening on the left is the thrusters, and since it's so huge compared to the entirety of the ship when it's at full speed it travels very fast, and all the spikes pointing out in the opposite direction helps it cut through space debris like asteriod, hence the name.
OR The big red opening is actually the front of the ship, and it swallows up asteriods (and other space junk) and crunches it up and then spews it out the back as rocket fuel which propels the ship... I think the 2nd one is more likely.
Anyway, awesome ship design.
