I spent... SO LONG on this piece... I really love the colors, and I'm particularly proud of it! I think I made the Nutcracker's hair too silver... cause it's supposed to be white... but otherwise I love how this turned out...ZOMG COPIC MARKERS ROCK

Or you could have you know... moved on. If you don't have nothing nice to say then keep your mouth shut and be on your way. I don't go to your page to tell you that your drawings are no good now do I? And just because you're a nutcracker fanatic, it doesn't mean that you have the monopoly on what and what shouldn't be in the nutcracker universe.
I'm a nutcracker fanatic too, so that's why I'm doing this story. So whether you're a nay sayer or not is not going to stop me from doing this story.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, if you don't like it... keep it to yourself. You have the option of ignoring my drawing instead of being a jerk about it.

To give your opinion in a place that's meant for critique is not jerky.
Calling someone who disagrees with you a jerk, and commanding them to shut their mouth is.
Truthfully they didn't have to tell you their opinions. But that's what the box is for.
Look at the quote at the bottom of your posts. If you can't find the good in one negative critique - or even be polite about it - I'm a bit curious... how do you intend to find beauty in the grotesque?

But it's not critique... Critique is taking something, finding the faults, and telling you what you can IMPROVE upon... not that they just didn't like it.
If they had told me, "The blah blah blah on the left side needs to be fixed because it's disproportionate to blah blah..." I would have been like, "Man... I need to fix that. Thanks!"
Or, "The darkness of the picture doesn't seem to suit the characters in this picture since the characters designs themselves seems to be more light in comparison to the colors you use."
That's still more acceptable than, "I don't like them because they don't fit into my ideal of what they should be like."
That's just rude... thats like telling you, "You should write your story this way because "I" like the story better this way." Her opinion was like the equivalent of a 5 year old telling you they don't like it because they don't like it.
I thought her post was jerky and not thoughtful at all, hence why I said, if you don't got nothing nice to say don't say it at all.
Her post isn't grotesque either, so I find no beauty in it... her comment was just rude and continued to be.

I'm at a weird point where I'm trying to distance myself from traditionally beautiful works and concentrate on the more grosteque aspects of art. However yours was just so fabulously conceived I had no choice but to add it my favorites. You did this in markers and yet the color, the shine,the shadow and the vividness of color are all so well developed.

I definatly like the color ver. over the b&W both are stunning though. Your color choice for each person works very well, and I like the way the prince's hair turned out, even if it is more silver then white.
Also, where th ewhite dots just randomly placed, or where they carefully put down?

For some reason, the skin tones look grainy on my computer screen. I'm not sure why.
