Description
I wanted to try something a little different. I really enjoyed working with all of the different colors and utilizing as many of the default Photoshop brushes as possible. It was a very experimental piece, that turned out to be a lot of fun creating.Brush for lace trim can be found here:

Beautiful piece. I love the concept of this, and I especially love how you did the space background. You should hare that technique with me! I also love the smoky effect around her body that creates the illusion of wings. It's a really nice touch.
I think the main thing this piece needs is a bit more depth in the coloring/shading. Next time, instead of using grays to shade and white for highlights, try using colors. In this case, I would use a yellow highlight because of the glowing halo around her head, and a blue/purple shadow. As it is, the halo (or maybe it's a sun or star behind her?) appears to be disconnected from the rest of the image, because it should be casting yellow light but there's no yellow reflected anywhere on her. Pulling the colors from the environment into the highlights and shadows will really help to connect the figure with the background and make the image look cohesive. It may be my monitor settings but I think I can see a little bit of yellow reflected in the metallic sections, that's a nice touch.
The other suggestion I would make is regarding her feet. Bare feet are SO hard to draw! I struggle with them a lot myself. However, her feet in this shot look very wide, and it almost looks like she is standing on something and splaying her toes rather than floating in the air. Most people's toes all touch when their feet are relaxed, unless they have very wide feet, and if she's floating her feet would probably be angled down a bit more rather than facing head-on towards the viewer. The distance between her legs is also slightly awkward and makes it look like she is standing on something rather than floating. it would look a bit more graceful if her legs were closer together, perhaps with one leg slightly bent so one foot is a little bit higher than the other. Her pose as it is is very symmetrical with makes for a boring compositon; offsetting one leg or arm would make the image much more dynamic.
Overall, really nice image! It's one of my favorites of yours.

I used my weird feet for reference LOL, I have double jointed toes that are spaced a part like that and can pick things up with them. Next time I'll use a different foot model.

Well, that would make a great model for a Naiad! As a follow-on to your lovely mermaid, you could draw a cute Naiad with webbed fingers, & webbed toes...taking advantage of the spreading of the toes!!

The background is gorgeous!
Her feet look a little funny. I can't place what's wrong with them though.

I am glad you worked with these colours, I am loving that for certain <3
At first I didn't notice her arms and torso were gone lol it tripped me out for a second, but
I love that affect and it inspired some ideas for me. I liked that you didn't keep her dress top
entirely straight-it ads for a more flowy look that way =3 You should really use these colours
again though <3

Theses were some of my favorite colors to work with, so I definitely want to try it again!
she he originally had these leather bracers and a corset, but when I kept hiding the layer I thought it looks better without, so I decided to just add the back parts on the metal and leave it that way
My creative process can be so weird sometime. I just kind of think of things as I go a long most of the time. X3

I really like darker colours too =3
But I have done that myself XD Just have been hiding a layer
and putting it back over and over while trying to decide which
looks better lol. I have to ask others usually to help me decide =3

Yeah, I'll usually ask my fiancé to help me decide if I really can't.
he also liked this, I'm glad I went with it, because it makes it more interesting to look at.
