Description
Hello all. This was my final project for my Design class laat semester. It got an A. I figure this'll be a good addition to my Smash Bros. series.Probably obvious to most of you, but just in case, I'll explain what's happening. This painting is a parody of Leonardo Da Vinci's "The Last Supper" with Nintendo's all-stars standing in for Jesus and his Apostles. I worked very hard to capture the detail and whatnot of the original while still keeping my own style.
And, like the original, I was sure to include my own "Da Vinci code" in the piece, which is why the image file is so large. I'd like to see if any one can figure out any of the secret messages I've hidden in here. I'll even give you a hint as to one: There's a reason for why each character is seated where they are. They where not just selected arbitrarilly from the Smash Bros. lineup. Some may be more obvious than others, but...well, now I'm making it more than a hint. See if you can crack that code and the others!
As to picture quailty, the real piece isn't this dark. Out of the 500 pictures I took, this was the only passable one. The rest were either blurred, not centred, had a huge glare from the flasf, and usually all three. This one was a little dark, but the sharpest.
Okay, enjoy and happy code cracking!

This is so.... This is one of the most amzing things I have ever seen. I'm not big on religion, but I did get the 6-4, and 1-2-8 symbolism on the doors. I just can't believe the detail and effort that was put into this picture. Incredible. And Snake lol. I really enjoy things with symbolism in it, and this has some of the greatest and well thought out uses of symbolism I have ever seen. Great job my good sir. I greatly look forward to your future art.

Well, in Jacopo Bassano's version of The Last Supper, there is a dog....is that what Pikachu's supposed to be?

It is rare to find a picture that takes this long to simply look through. It's even made really decent, which is also rare: If the idea for a picture is good, it never comes out quite right. But this is really a great one.
I would instantly put it in my favorites if there was a better image available.

Dude that's awesome. I just compared it to the real painting, and you got everyone's expressions like the ones on the picture. Excelente! Every little detail, from the background, to the people and food at the table, to the people by (or under) the table. Great.

I never could tell the apostles apart, save for Judas (Wario here), Jesus, and Mary(?), so I ask: is Luigi replacing St. Peter?

Thought so. I mean, who else would Luigi and Wario be best for?

Awesome! I like Snake hiding under the table, Kirby trying to take the food, and Pikachu taking a nap near his supper.

Actually, where Peach is in Da Vinci's painting, that's not a woman. That's Saint John. Mary Magdelene wasn't at the Last Supper. Just the apostles. Here's a link to a picture that better illustrates this: [link]
...not that Da Vinci's painting is bad (of COURSE not!) but one could easily mistake John for a woman in that painting.

That being said, Samus might have been the better role for John. XDD

why? Samus and Mario aren't an item. Peach is Marios main squeeze, as was Mary Magdelin Jesus'. It's just science.

It's a reference to the first Metroid- the fact of Samus' gender was a big secret. The manual itself refered to Samus as a "he", and only when you beat the game did it show otherwise!
P.S: 128/64- do these refer to the bit counts of Melee and the original, respectively?

yes to the numbers thing
I hear where you're coming from on the Samus thing. OIt's very good. But I wanted to make the husband/wife connection. I guess I like Peach more than Samus(I suck at Metroid Prime...pretty good at Zero Mission though...)

Well, I guess I can let the cat out of the bag. Each of the Evangelist Apostles(Mathew, Mark, Luke, John) are often represented by certian creatures. Mark is represented by lion, John an eagle, Luke an ox, and Mathew(where Pit is) an angel.

Okay, my bad. Apparently she was at the Last Supper? I don't know. But I can tell you, the focus in the painting is the apostles. [link]

Is there a reason why Snake is hiding under the table?
And why weren't the Ice Climbers invited?!?
I'm one of their fans on DA, so I demand an answer.

1) Snake likes hiding under rectangular objects
2) the Ice Climbers didn't fit in anywhere
