said he wanted to see me do an Ultimate Universe (An imprint of Marvel Comics for those who don't know) Batman. Here's something I came up with inspired by different versions of Batman.

I decided to go with a sort-of armored look ala the movies (Mostly Batman Begins, though the chainmail in the joints was inspired by The Dark Knight) and sketches done by . I actually think it looks a little too much like the latter (Sorry, If you find it too similar to yours, I'll take it down.)

The coloring of the suit came from how the comics suit looked in the later 90s, though it varied between black with dark grey hightlights, black with dark grey and dark blue highlights, or just simply a dark and trunks-less version of the classic yellow oval costume (depending on the coloring, the cowl and cape, the gloves, and the boots would either be dark grey or dark blue). For the coloring, I chose the last one.

The symbol was inspired by a costume an future version of Batman wore in the JLA story, "Rock of Ages".

The gantlets were inspired by Batman Begins. The gloves themselves and the boots were inspired by The Dark Knight The belt is also based on The Begins/TDK one. The claws on the fingertips were inspired by The Batman's design.

The cape was inspired by both the capes in Begins/TDK and The Batman. The spikes on the shoulders on the cape really serve no purpose; I just think they look cool. The cowl was inspired by The Batman, The Dark Knight, Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, and the Batman: Gotham Knight short, Crossfire.

As for why I chose an armor-ish look: Well, realistically tights and a bulletproof vest aren't gonna really help you in a fight, though there are some stories that present the whole Batsuit as being bulletproof itself.
