How is the 2nd one wrong?
It still has the boarder.

The second one is wrong because it has no transparency. For example, if that second stamp was uploaded to dA. You would see the purple around it instead of the green background for the website.

Could you please please send me a link or upload the shiny stamp template ? I know that the artist who did it desactivated his account so I couldn't go to the deviation page and have the template, I'm in a serious need for it, please please tell me ;_____;

Wow, I submitted this a year ago so I'm not sure I still have the template anymore. Though I will try to look for it.

Sorry about the late response, the artist of the template I used made it that way.

So your saying all the light and dark grey areas are transparent?

Sorry for the late reply. Sort of, for example if you're using Photoshop to make your stamp it should look like the top image. But once you save it as "Save for Web & Devices..." if I'm not mistaken it should look transparent once uploaded to dA. The bottom image shows that if you upload your stamp to dA and it looks like the bottom image then it doesn't have transparency. Here is an example of what a stamp with transparency should look like once uploaded to dA: [link] The only thing you should see around the stamp is dA's background. I hope my response was helpful and answered your question.

So...if I have a gallery of stamps that I thought had transparent borders but really they don't, is there a way to fix that or do I have to remake the lot of them?
I'm really hoping there's a fix. I've tried going through and removing whatever color is bleeding through where it should be transparent, but it messes up the border...or at least it seems to. Any thoughts?

I think you could change the settings for your canvas so that the background isn't white or black, but transparent. Or if your stamp is on a different layer than the background you could probably erase the background. If you think it would be easier to start over then make sure you start the program with a transparent background.

*sigh* I guess I just won't submit the ones I have now, but will be sure any future stamps are saved with transparent backgrounds.
Thanks.

You're welcome, you might want to ask other stamp makers as well. There might be a quicker way to fix transparency mistakes.

I might not have to have to do that... remaking them isn't so hard, I've got my own template now thanks to a very nifty video tutorial, and I've just been taking the guts out of mine and copy/pasting them onto my new template.
We'll see if it works. I really appreciate your help, though.

When you open a program like photoshop or gimp you can select a transparent background.
