Description
A macro of a peacock feather (not the kind with eyes, though). The result of an educational two hours of playing around with my camera.
Postwork consisted of cropping (obviously, considering the aspect ratio), slight over all level adjustment, and selective blurring and removing of lint on the black background.
Download view is 1024 pixel wide.
I appreciate costructive criticism, but I don't like splitting them off in Critiques.

Hey, an unusual shot of a feather on dA!
Well done, that framing wouldn't have occured to many photographers.

*heh* Thank you.
I considered trying the "feather with water droplet" thing, but then went "naah, too many of those already". As I said in a different reply, part of it may be availability of feathers. In craft shops and the like the only peacock feathers are the ones with eyes; this one with the different structure I found at the local zoo.

Thank you!
I bet part if the thing about the feather choice is that you can buy eye feathers in lots of places. The one I got I think is from the edge of the tail, and I found it in the local zoo, where peacocks roam "free".

Aren't they ever? What surprised me was that during the "photoshoot" I found that the thin, single strands looked more interesting than the denser, more glittery side of the feather.

it is definitely! The single strands sort of make the photograph look abstract, I think it's a great effect
