Yay, it's done This took quite a bit of work but I think I like how it turned out This is my second entry for the LGBT Pride & Support Show , this time with Joachim and his trusty mount Xanadu. I decided to draw three familiar faces in the crowd, too...

>>STORY<<

Joachim stood beside Xanadu, softly talking to him and stroking the stallion's nose. Rush and Emmy, who had just finished their round cleanly, were a little ways off, in the shade of a tree.
"Nervous?" Axel suddenly asked Joachim, walking up to him with a smile. Joachim looked at him and squeaked, "no, vhat makes you zink zat?" Axel laughed.
"You'll do fine," he said, patting him on the back before scratching Xanadu's neck. The stallion seemed calm enough, though his ears were pricked alertly and turned towards every sound. Joachim took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves, which seemed to be getting worse by the second as his turn came closer and closer. Suddenly Rush joined them, too. Jesse was standing with Emmy, patting the mare's neck, watching them. Axel paused, then smirked and walked over to join him, hands in his pockets.
"You've got nothing to worry about," Rush told Joachim firmly. Joachim merely shrugged lamely, looking at his feet. He went to adjust his stirrups (for the 12th time), but Rush stopped him, gently taking hold of his arm.
"This is just a show to see how Xanadu does when he's being ridden in a large crowd, remember?" he reminded, dropping his voice a little.
"Yeah," Joachim nodded, though he could feel a small itch to win gnawing away in his stomach. Rush paused a moment, then sighed and pushed Joachim's hair back, tying it in a ponytail.
"Good luck," he said, kissing his cheek encouragingly before stepping away to let him mount. Joachim smiled at him before walking away, pushing his heels down and straightening out his back. Jesse went to put Emmy away for the time being, and Axel came to join Rush by the sidelines.
"Vhat vas that about?" he asked mischievously. Rush looked at him.
"For good luck," he grumbled, "stop bugging me." Axel chuckled, putting his arm around Rush's shoulder and ruffling his hair. Rush ducked away, muttering, then stopped to turn his full attention on Joachim as he entered the arena. Jesse came up to them, pushing his stetson back a little.
"Can't believe I'm watching him here in this arena now," he said, mostly to himself.
"Why?" Rush asked, glancing up at him.
"He came to us as a complete beginner and now look at him...," Jesse sighed heavily, smiling a little.
"Oh stop the sentimental talking," Rush grumbled, returning his gaze onto Joachim and Xanadu, who had just cleared the first jump.
