Wonderful focus. The blurred out background really makes the log jump out of the picture, which I don't see much of in black and white photos---so very impressive.
This is kind of creepy in a way...it reminds me of some kind of imprisonment, with the barbed wire and whatnot. Also the black and white gives it that dark, gloomy type of feel.
Also-also, nice choice on the think black frame. It gives the photo that finished look, but not so much that it takes away from the main subject.

What a fine detail and contrast! I feel happy to own a D70 when I see such photographs!
