1996: Red, an eleven-year-old boy from Pallet Town in Kanto, begins his journey as a Pokémon Trainer on the same day as Blue, his rival and the grandson of the local authority on Pokémon, Professor Oak. Oak lets the two boys choose a starter Pokémon, gives them a Pokédex and asks them to catch all the Pokémon in the region.
During their travels, Red encounters the villainous Team Rocket and their boss Giovanni, a criminal gang that treats Pokémon as tools, rather than train them as friends and partners. Red journeys across the region, defeating Team Rocket, all the Gym Leaders, challenges the Elite four, and finally beats the current Champion: his rival Blue.

Around the same time, Brendon and May begin their own journey in Hoenn, meeting Professor Birch, gaining a starter Pokémon, beating the gym leaders, facing the Evil Team Magma and Aqua, gaining the ability to Mega evolve their Pokémon, face the Elite Four, and finally the champion: Steven Stone.
However, a meteor is on it’s way to earth, forcing the people of Hoenn to quickly find a way to get rid of the problem. The world is saved thanks to Zinnia, Rayquaza, and one lucky trainer.

That same year, Dexter’s Laboratory takes place.

1997: The events of Johnny Bravo takes place.

1999: In Johto, Ethan and Kris begin their own journey, meeting Professor Elm, gaining a starter Pokémon, beating the gym leaders, facing what remains of the Evil Team Rocket, face the Elite Four, and finally the champion: Lance. As usual.

Around the same time, Lucas and Dawn begin their own journey in Sinnoh, meeting Professor tree, gaining a pet, beating the gym people, facing the Evil Team Galactic, face the Top Four, and finally the champion: Cynthia.

2001: the events of Totally Spies! the movie takes place.
Samantha, Alexandra, and Clover start their new lives in Beverly Hills, California as secret spies for the World Organization Of Human Protection.
