Just read the synopsis. Makes sense now.
Of course, the title isn't meant to literally signify that the lion is a ghost, just that he's kinda like one, since he's not visible in the pitch black cave and kills things........
Plus I was inspired by the title of the film "The Ghost And The Darkness", where two man-eating lions are on the loose in the British Empire's Kenyan holdings.

Yeah if you haven't seen Pet Sementary, you should, great horror movie.

Also I knew the title reference, the whole incident where two maneless lions were stalking and devouring several workers trying to build a railroad across Africa, I just couldn't think of a good joke about it XD
