Alishia Davenport joined the World Explorers League to sate her wanderlust, see the world and achieve her childhood dream of uncovering ancient artifacts for world museums. The remote canyons and valleys of South Korea were beautiful and full of impressive wild life, one of her favorite places to explore. Her guide this time was a wizened old man who spoke of lost, seldom seem caverns where the occasional cup or carving could be found. Intrigued, she had hiked with him through some dense trees for days to get to them.

Inside the earth the caves twisted and turned confusingly. Not far inside however their flashlights exposed a series of carved symbols that looked like nothing she had seen before. Elated at the find she snapped several pictures of them and logged them in her journal before trekking further inwards.

The caves descended quite steeply in various places, and it wasn't long before the two o them were quite far underground. They stopped at a small pool of water to rest and eat. It was there that she spotted the small ceramic figurine and a series of carved steps leading down a side gallery.

A few hundred feet down the tunnel they heard a series of clattering pebbles for somewhere nearby. Her guide suggested they return to the surface lest some cave-in trap them there. Tomorrow was another day after all. She was about to agree with him, when a large rock fell from above and knocked the flashlight from her hand. For a moment she thought it had been mere happenstance, but then she saw figures emerging from the shadows around them. A blow to the head made her world blur, and she fell insensible to the ground.

Some time later she came to, and found herself bound between two metal poles stuck in the ground. The ropes that held her wrists to the poles was tough and unyielding. Try as she might she couldn't break free. Her only consolation was a pale source of light somewhere above her that allowed her to see some of her surroundings. Her guide was nowhere in sight.

For a half hour she struggled to break her bonds. Then the sound of bare feet on rock came from somewhere nearby. In moments a trio of strange creatures came into the cave, shambling towards her with purpose in their strides ...
