Targa was in a sour mood, having lost most of his wealth and stock to a caravan raid two month's previously. These girls were the best he'd been able to purchase as a start to rebuilding his business. Sour mood or no, he brightened when the warrior approached even though the man had a slave girl in tow. Two were better than one. He called out to the man and indicated his best wares. The girls all called out to be bought as they'd been taught to. Yet the one he had was better than they and he barely gave the girls a glance. Targa sighed and let hope remain in his heart for another to come along.

Brenda called out to the warrior as she'd been taught to, hope flaring in her. She was the best Targa had on display and looked forward to leaving his slave pen before the others. She glanced at the cuffs on her wrists that prevented her from kneeling in abject obeisance as she'd been taught by a previous Master. Hampered as she was she could only manage a winsome upright stance. It wasn't enough. The warrior barely glanced at her. She stamped her foot in frustration. Another chance lost, but there would be others. The city was large.
