"These ruins are treacherous Jean. Ned is missing. Stephen too. I doubt they found the Stones of Verunda and high tailed it back to camp. More likely they fell into pits or were bitten by some poisonous critters. Lots of them around you know. Easy to miss even when you're on top of one. It's a pity you fell into deep water and drowned. When I find the stones I'll make sure the institute dedicates a nice plaque to your brave ... no, heroic ... dedication to archaeology."
