Dudes and dudettes of internetville,In my spare time, I'm making a lot of loping gifs these days. I've been hearing from lots of folks who want to know how I'm making these little moving images. Making them has been so much fun, so I figured I'd try and share a little of what I know. Keep in mind that this is, of course, just ONE WAY of making animated gifs, so it's hardly authoritative or exhaustive. Mostly it's just a working method that I've discovered--and it's bound to change over time. I'll update again when I figure out some new things. I can "acquire" anything. so no worries even if its flash.
i basically started working with two programs and i love both tremendously... manga studio is simply amazing for comic (inking) work and sketchbook pro is fantastic for a "pencil like feel."
i'd love one for the comic if you feel up to it.

I've been hearing good things about Sketchbook Pro and Manga Studio. I'm yet to try either of them, but I may give them a go in the near future...

sketchbook pro feels like youre drawing on paper more than any other program. i'm not the only one that agrees with that assessment. it's also VERY intuitive - so much so a crappy artist and dope like myself can handle it and figure things out.
manga studio's inking is as close to REAL inking as you can get. The rulers are phenomenal... with one in a couple seconds you set up your vanishing points and every line you draw follows a line. 1/2/3 point... no problem. it also has a layer you can create so it acts like vector work, so if you need to tweak a line, or erase between two points, etc... if you're doing comic strips and you need to create 4 equal boxes... or 3... or 2... or 5... you just type what you want in an area and it breaks it down for you. BUUUUUUUUT! As intuitive as sketchbook is? this is the exact opposite. it's very daunting at first. looks very difficult to comprehend. but not impossible to learn. also there's a "for dummies" book for it that you can find online for it.
I'm a crappy artist and think it makes my stuff look better.
