I am wondering how do you make the backgrounds biger so that they are not a bunch of small version of the background over and over. Lik make the background show one pic not 50?

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! ^^ how to do a simple lined background! ^^ I will definitly have to check outt your other tutorials too!

BTW, I have to ask what fonts you used to make this? I like alot of them, but a couple I have no clue what they are...

The one on the userbar "panda is crazy" font is the one I can*t figure out

Uhh, I can't really remember ... I did these quite a while ago @__O Haha. But they're most likely all free fonts I downloaded. Just google "free fonts" (:

When I first tried to change the color, I basically color it pixel by pixel. [I'm an idiot!]
So thank you very much!!!!

I can't change opacity when i go into overlay and i cant find that layer menu..Why?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

antichange In reply to xAllanx [2008-05-25 03:16:45 +0000 UTC]

The layer menu should be attached to your GIMP window, at the bottom, as one of the tabs. If not, look at the bottom section, and click the arrow pointing left at the top right corner of the bottom section (below the boxes that show the foreground and background colors). Go to add tab -> layers. Yay!

If you cant see/the bottom section is missing, go to the top of the GIMP window, click file -> dialogs -> layers. And there it is. To attach to to the bottom, drag the word "layers" on the window to the bottom of the GIMP window where there is a tiny/skinny bar on the bottom.

Sorry if its confusing! I'll show you a screenshot if necessary :]

It's so simple you'd think I would have picked up on it before. The ColortoAlpha is even better, you can do some pretty cool stuff with it. Now I need to find some actual use for it..

OHH I figured out the Color to Alpha one! ^^ Thanks!

antichange In reply to The1JM [2008-05-10 01:29:51 +0000 UTC]

Hehe yes. I'm not sure how Color to Alpha works exactly, but what I like about this method is that you can draw under the lines and not affect the lines. Perhaps you may be able to do that with Color to Alpha as well, but I'm not familiar with that method. I think I'll investigate! ^^

Nice tut. I saw somewhere something similar, but instead of desaturating the pattern there was used "Color to alpha" function. I think it's better, because only the black stripes will remain and the white ones won't lighten your background.
