Just fooling around in a bit of spare time - a very quickly draw image, about 70-80 minutes work "A large freighter docks on a distant ore rich moon to refuel".

One of the things I love about your work is the sense of atmosphere. You also, obviously have achieved economy of mark making through solid painting technique. this is particularly true here. i really enjoyed the "bold visions book". what helped you key in to the importance of atmosphere? lots of photostudies?

Loving the calm mood. Although either the foreground rocks or the freighter could be a bit sharper, it's pretty fantastic. I could spend hours just looking at this view. Regardless of whether those clouds are pollution or just clouds, the fact that they're so heavy seems like it would make it very quiet for a bystander. It'd be a good place for a fight, too, but definitely better as it is.
