I've been doing a lot of work recently that I can't show (which is always a downer) and a lot of other work cramming to finish off a major project which is eating in to my art time!This is a concept image illustrating an area with such enormous vegetation that you can actually walk under the roots of larger trees. I always loved the look of "A Bugs life" when they turned mere blades of grass into glowing cathedral-like ceilings and the like; I've just made the foliage larger rather than the characters smaller.

Very nice balance of foreground, middleground and background elements. Good motivated light source and excellent contrast.
The repetition of shapes helps to hold the eye on the center of interest.

However, this really hits a lovely spot for me. ever since I was young and watched animal planet/nature documentary type things... I've loved mangrove forests. And seeing one on such a grand scale and so beautifully done really does make me positively giddy. <3

I love the way the lighting works in this picture; the way you get the light beaming through the trees.
