I really love this one. Although, my original is a lot prettier because the background colors are brighter and lighter. Somehow the transfer to jpg made it lose the really gorgeous, bright puprle variants.Okay, so the morning of 06/25/08 I turned on the radio to help me wake up, and the song "Not an Angel" by City Sleeps came on. I really like it, and that line "Leave me alone, I'm not an angel yet" got stuck in my head. So, I hunted the song down on youtube at my lunchbreak at work.
That evening, I started working on this drawing as I played that song over and over again (from youtube). You're probably asking "WTF?" upon seeing this, but let me add background to it. As I was hearing that line play over in my head, I could see Danny on the ledge at the top of the tallest building in Amity Park grieving Sam. What happened to her, even I don't know. But she appears to him as an angel as he stands there on that ledge (seen here). Now, you're probably saying "That still doesn't make sense. The title is 'Not an Angel Yet' but Sam IS an angel." Well, the title isn't meant for Sam, it's meant for Danny. He's just part ghost, not angel. He's "not an angel yet." So, he can't really be with her no matter how desperately he does. And, "Never gonna ever gonna belong to another" is how he's feeling. It's as if he was Sam's and can love no one else.
I'd write something for this, but I think the lyrics can cover it for me.

You know, I never really knew what I wanted to have happened to her when I drew this. I'm thinking that it had to be something sudden, like a car crash or hit and run of some type. If it had been a long, painful demise for her, Danny probably wouldn't be quite as devastated as I have him, here.
Actually, I think that I like that reason. It was a car crash, nothing malicious — just one of those horrible accidents — on a rainy, foggy day. Of course, that's very dull and boring. But, I figure not all things in the world of DP have to be utter chaos and supernatural. (I leave that for my other works. XD)

Thank you immensely! This was one of those impromtu drawings that I just had to create. I even drew it, and it still makes my heart ache looking at it. Danny's world would never be the same without Sam.
