This picture took forEVER! I tried my own backbround, and it sucked really, really, really, really bad. So, I cheated and used a real photo, again. This image immediately follows with my Peril drawing. We're now looking at the top of the roof at thirteen-year-old Gwen dangling.

As you can see, Gwen's slight grasp on the railing is slipping. The fourteen-year-old, and still mutated, Kevin looms over her, and Ben is screaming like a madman from the grond below. What you can't see from the angle of this image is the fifteen-year-old gwen and sixteen-year-old Kevin from the Alien Force universe (recall, if you saw Peril that they have ended up in an alternate deminsion to theirs) racing up to the top of the building via Gwen's powers.

They are caught by surprise when the younger Gwen reaches out to Kevin. It also makes Kevin shrink back. She's showing a great deal of trust in him. Some could say it's he is the lesser of the two evils, but I think that a level of trust is still required. She trusts that Kevin won't send her to her death whereas by falling she knows death is certain.

The original title of this drawing was "Kevin, help me" because that's what she's saying to him.

Minor details: I forgot to add the gleam on his crystal (okay, I forgot the real name... tetra-something?...) arm.

The smoke needs addressed because the reflection of the fire is coming off of the thick layer of cloud. Also, you'll notice that because Kevin has wings, there is a spot in the upper left corner where the smoke has been left out. Why? Because, when he flaps his wings it disperse the smoke elsewhere. That is rather helpful since he has gills on his sides.

I'm rather pleased with this picture.

Wow!! This is really really awesome.

I think you should try making your own backgrounds. Trust me, with practice it'll come to you naturally.

Aw, thanks.

I did try for this one, and it sucked. I had a grassy patch, a building, and an alley. It was the wrong perspective, and it was really ugly. I'm not creative enough design wise to create all the elements I need. That, and, I really hate drawing buildings because there are so many parts and lines that I can't ever get right. I may eventually try drawing copies of pictures (still crediting the photograph owners) to get knowledge. But, if I'm gonna do that, I may as well cheat and use the real thing. XD

You're welcome.

Oh, keep trying. Look, not everyone's good at backgrounds. It just takes practice. What also helps is perspective drawing (it sure helps me). Don't forget to ask first, along with crediting, too. And look, remember the phrase, "The bitch is in details, but damn don't it look good after I'm done!"

Well, I do use pictures from sxc.hu that have standard restrictions, which basically requires credit only. The ones where I have to get written permission or notify them that I used their photo I try to avoid.

See, that's the problem. I don't want to do practice drawings because I'm not using art as a job. It's a fun little hobby I use to amuse myself. If I think it looks nice with the photo, and it looks so much better than it did prior to, I'm good with that. I won't learn, but I've reached a point in my life where I'm fine with that. It also means I don't have to use rulers and end up with lines going up or downhill (I have no eye for straight and end up with problems later on when the lines aren't right). I've forgotten, in the past nine year, what I learned of about points of perspective... or focus points... or whatever the hell they are where you put a dot on the page and draw all lines towards that dot.

I see.

You'll remember, and it's perspective drawing, btw.

Yeah, if I had ever learned it properly to begin with. HAHA, I think I got the worst grades on that less. XD

I may look it up online and see if anyone has pointers. Not that I'll actually try it out, or anything, because I'm procrastinatingly awesome that way. *winkwink* It's just a thought.

There's plenty of tutorials here on dA, y'know. And when you gonna be online so you and I can talk, huh? I miss our conversations.

I never thought of looking through the tutorials, here.

Hmmm. As for when I'm gonna be on messenger, it's hard to say. I don't get on when I'm busy working on drawings or writing because it is too much of a distraction. I can't work while talking to people. It just doesn't happen. So, unless I'm finished with a project, or not in the mood to work on one, then I get on. But, that's usually eleven Central time or later, on the weekends (mostly Saturday, on an occasion, Friday). I have so many things planned that it's hard to give a time. We'll see how this weekend goes. Last weekend, I was in no mood to talk to anyone, really.

Oh yeah, I use tutorials for Paint (and they got plenty for GIMP and Photoshop as well).

Ah, I see. 11 PM Central time is like 12 AM Eastern Time, but yeah let's see how this weekend goes at least.

I have another drawing I'd like to add for the answer, but I am also working on a story to go with it. Although, it's much more likely that the drawing will come before the story. I had a tendency to start stories and... well... not finish them. XD
