So, I'm thinking over the things that you've said." ~ Dana Glover "Thinking Over"Way back in 2006 when I watched the first Ben 10 series, there was an episode "They Lurk Beneath" or something. Well, there was a boy Ben and Gwen's age named Edwin. I always thought he was a great match for Gwen... then, I saw the Alien Swarm movie and got into the new series. Now, I'm a total KevinxGwen shipper. But, it poses a good question.
Which way would Gwen choose if given the choice on her own free will?
I had considered writing a fic for this, but I think the drawing can stand on its own. I prefer letting everyone imagine what would happen, how Kevin would be terribly jealous as Edwin does a fabulous job of sweeping Gwen off of her feet in a gentleman sort of way. I also like to think that Edwin (I think he'd grown out of Eddie at this point) tries to woo her with expensive gifts (he is rich from what we saw in the episode). But, we all know that Gwen can't be bought.
For Edwin, I wanted a sort of Bruce Wayne feel to him. But, I used a few pictures of Jensen Ackles from his appearance on Dark Angel to get Ed the way I wanted. As for Gwen and Kevin, the references for the are Galadriel Stineman and Nathan Keyes (the actors who portrayed the two in Alien Swarm).
Gwen's dress is a bridesmaid's dress by alfred angelo. I thought it was pretty.

This really does pose a tough question, and it's a good one to ask. I wonder who would she choose, though.

I am rather biased, but I think Gwen would pick Kevin. It started out as a crush on the typical badboy, but I think she has grown attached to him. I'm not saying that she wouldn't really have to reconsider her life once meeting up with Edwin, again. But, I think the pretty boy just isn't what she wants, anymore.

Oh, I agree with you on that. Kevin has spent more time with Gwen anyway and he knows her better than pretty boy.

actually i hate to admit it but if not for kev coming along gwen and Edwin would make a cute couple 
despite the fact that Edwin is the safer choice and is swarb gentleman but kind of a snob kevin is still sooo much more and care for her too deeply after all kev done for her she know that she will never find someone that could show her more love then kevin could

That's what I thought, too. Then, again, there were few other male characters introduced to pair Gwen up with prior to Kevin. I'll get flak for it, but I didn't like Kev in the original series. So, having Edwin be with Gwen according to Ben10 was not an issue. I like how they reintroduced Kevin in Alien Force.
You know, it makes me want to write a small oneshot about Gwen's life if she chose Edwin. Living the stuffy, rich life and having any material object she ever desired...but still finding something is missing from her life.
Edwin is a safer choice, and he's also okay with the whole alien thing since he did figure out Ben was the aliens who saved them. But, Gwen has changed a lot since being ten years old. Edwin might be more mature, as I think she finds appealing, but I don't think he would make her laugh like Kevin.
That, and Kev knows she's a hybird and doesn't care about that (in fact, he even knew before she ever did). The fact that he's a hybrid, too, makes her feel secure. There is always a fear, as a human, of being rejected. I think that fear is nearly diminished when she's with Kevin because she knows if anyone understands rejection, it's him. It also helps that from the first time she and Ben met Kevin, again, he worried over her. First, when Ben yelled at her, then when the highbreed threw her against the wall.

but when i think of ed now i think that if kevin had never came around he would doo he preepy like her and i agree he would have grown up by now and he be a gentleman that could bye her all she ever wanted it sound great but that kind of think gwen would never truly be happy with like you said something would seem to be missing
i liked kevin a lot in the older show it just never crossed my mind to put kevin and gwen together it was kind of like putting gwen with vilgax at the time it just was something i never would have thought of 
you really should wright a little stoyr about gwen being with ed showing how her life sound like a fairy tail but some how something just doesn't feel right something missing that be an awesome story maybe it take place just a few days before they met kevin at the train year and she has been going out with ed for a 3 year everthing seem perfect but then she met kevin again after 5 years and she is getting soo very confuesd about her feeling and about kevin and ed she try to not feel anything for kevin and deny her feeling but she just cant kevin just keep apereing in her mind and want leave she cant stop thinking about him and how he carryed her out of the ship and why she had ended up crying on kevin instead of ben ben was just as close why did he cry on kevin when she has a boyfriend already and could never see her self with kevin but kevin just keep haunting her mind and she cant help it telling edwin about kevin that they he had returned and cursing him but because ben could see that kevin had a crush ben tell gwen to play along and to not tell kevin about Edwin just to keep kevin under control
and ed dosn't like the idea of kevin being around (gwen has told him about all the thing that kevin had done in the past )but maybe ben did have a point keeping kevin under control was a good idea he scared for her thinking that kevin is going ot do something and gwen is just figthing with her emotion the hole time but finely brake up with ed in hope that now she can be with kevin (you know the hole ep 5 thing why haven't you asked me out yet )understanding and accepting her feeling for kevin
ya he is a safe choice and he know about the alien thing so that make him seem like a good fit no he could never make her laugh like kev dose or make her feel as special as kevin dose
yes that is a very good ponit that is something they have in common i bet gwen has that fear too knowing that if the kids at her school know about her power they may reject her
i know i loved that that what made gwen fall for him he cares sooo much for her and he is truly willing ot do anything for her even give up being human if it mean saving her
the first and 2dn ep was full of lost of thing like that he let her cry on her she carried her out of the ship out of worry he yelled at ben for yelling at her he ran ot her side when the high bread throw her at wall he keep trying to impress her like when she looked at him when he said save some for me tho creep didn't pay me then when gwne looks at him he shrug saying also because there evil and where against that

This does pose a very good question. I would also like to know who she would pick. I absolutely love the colors of the drawing in contrast to the real forest picture behind them.

I'm glad to hear that it really is a formidable question. It's clear that Kevin is crazy about her, but I think Edwin would be as well. After seeing how courageous she was against the aliens attacking his grandfather's resort, I think he'd grow up viewing her as the perfect girl. So, I like to think they both offer her complete adoration but from two opposite sides of the spectrum. I expected she'd have a hard time choosing between them.
Thank you for such a lovely comment! Although, the only outfit I picked out on my own was Gwen's dress. Edwin and Kevin have the outfits on from the show. Technically, Gwen's dress is her "canon" color of blue, also. The colors do happen to stand out nicely against the image. For the words, I chose colors I don't usually favor. They had to be two different colors because the aqua color was too light against the base of the picture.
