The Mechagodzilla in Ready Player One was actually based off of the Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 poster version of Mechagodzilla. Kiryu was just in the book.

Yeah, Ultraman was also in the book, I just wish they had the rights to use a somewhat modernized version of Kiryu, while still keeping most of the original design.
