On the Day of Judgment,Celestial bodies align

Bitter cold replaces warmth
On the Day of Judgment,
Light brings, not salvation, but destruction
as life watches itself die
I just love penguins don't you?
Anyway, I'm really proud of this piece as it is the most realistic one I've created so far. I really tried to give the atmosphere a bleak frozen look, and the meteors I did my best to make them as realistic as possible. Three Terragen renders, a little snow and some Photoshop postwork and this is what you get.

EDIT: Ok wow, I go to sleep and wake up the next morning, only to find that I've received 100 favorites overnight. I was shocked and amazed, especially since this is my first DD ever. I want to give a big thanks to for suggesting it and for featuring it. I'm eternally greatful!

Ha yeah, it's the full version, minus some features. You can render it and save it without watermarks, but there's a size limit. Registered version gives you unlimited size and all features. The unregistered version still works pretty well though.

The penguins in there give the scene much more impact. There is only one thing though I don't quite like, and it's the other planets. I think the scene would very well hold up with only the last of the three. Also as pointed out by others, you can tell they're the exact same.

the planets and effects are too repetitive imo... the planet texture could have more variation, maybe try to merge different textures.
But I really like the atmosphere, depth and the colors.
