ok, so the new year is almost here, but instead of art summary I figured I better come up with influance map! I really haven't done this for years! the old influance map back from 2010 is a bit outdated, it was way back when I really started digging into digital art... so hopefully this will cover the most asked question like 'what is your art style called?' I'm not sure if it has a title, but you can associate it with the artist I guess and name it respectively... no matter how funny it sounds ;D

p.s. I haven't included one important influance in the map and that is you, all the followers and silent lurkers... I know some of you have been keeping your eye on since the old times so thank you so much for all the support :] have a great 2015!

1. Studio Ghibli - the depth in various aspects and attention to details has amazed me a lot in all of their animated works. one doesn't need to be sharp eyed to know there is something special about their creations.

2. Kiki's Delivery Service - the story telling and character development in K'sDS is something that inspires to add more depth, movement and story even in a single piece of artwork! Kiki's red bow has a direct influance to my witchcraft artwork too!

3. My Neighbor Totoro - the portrayal of creature nature and personality is amazing; the old style animation also gives it a really personal touch. I have taken lots of influance from Totoro, it even reaches to Boggart - his unusual behavior c:

4. Owls - well, I guess it speaks for it self C:

5. alchemaniac - his works are solid awesomness :] the colour use, level of details, great concepts and amazing fuse of it all - a real eye-treat! something I aspire to add to my own works.

6. MarcoBucci - those colourful and rough paintings! great artist with unique style.

7. Artbooks - this year I managed to get lots of great artbooks and there is a lot one can learn from!

8. Tangled - well designed environments with lush nature is one of the things I love and within Tangled it shows.

9. Stupid Fox by SilentReaper - a comic I'm still following! one of the inspirational reasons I started Boggart :]

10. Shrek - ever since 2001 it still inspires me in many little artistic aspects! now that counts for something!

11. griffsnuff - those painted environments are great! a really positive artist with adventurous deviations I love to follow :]

12. Cats - the awesomness of cats is close to impossible to match!

13. Kung Fu Panda - a great portrayal of a panda character in various ways, design and animation. I have painted quite a few pandas ever since.

14. Fire Flight - Phoenix Dance Theatre - very inspirational performance and cg fire animation. fire walk is something I came up with right afterwards.

15. NekoNaoko - that little stego sprout design was like a fire for a whole little world of mini dinos on its own c:

16. trenchmaker - one of my early days inspirations; the quality of her works is amazing and you can tell she pours in a lot of energy and soul in her work.

17. Anime - the beautiful, almost magic environments in various anime is something to be inspired from. 5cm per Second, anyone? :]
