I love this, very helpful. You cut off a bit of text though, nothing hugely important though I dont think.

Absolutely amazing, the step by step of your emotions, and ideas, is what makes this as much a work of art, as the finished product it's self.
I have to agree that the way you did this, so personalized by saying what you did, and what you wished you'd done, and all of the cute little doodles especially, made it so much more fun to read than a "How to:" guide could Ever acomplish!
I never could learn how to use artistic programs with those, but I think this really gave me some nice insight.
Thank you very much, keep up the great work!

*cheers* This is one of my favorites of your pics. ItΒ΄s just impressing how you do this, really. To me itΒ΄s just a mystery, even if I see it step by step. And itΒ΄s so nice of you to share and show us how things can be done. Thank you so much for this ^_^ ! Gah, I just adore your art !

Heehee, thanks for yet another tutorial! Or rather, I think people call it "walthroughs". Same thing, right?
Very nice explanations too, your English is improving a lot
Question; do you really time how long your paintings take to finish? Or is this just an estimation? Since you don't really do this for 20 hours straight, right? You have breaks, right?

I drew it during hum, 2-3 weeks, 20 hours is an estimation but this is fair :] I am very busy, so I can work only 1-2 hour per day ^^

Hahaha Sixio, do you have fun making these tutorials? XD They're really helpful (they take everyone through the entire thought process and everything else in Photoshop, so people can pick up little clues on what to do.) I love the little doodles you have everywhere on the tutorial... Makes it so amusing to read!
I especially enjoy the two characters playing tug-o-war with the heart at the bottom... ^_^
My computer starts to slow down when I have big resolution files open in Photoshop.. -_- So I cannot work on files that are 8000x6000 big. Unfortunately. At school though, I take an art class where we use Photoshop, and the computers there are SPLENDID handling graphics programs. (Mac G5). I try to transfer art that I work on at school to my computer at home, and my computer at home can't handle them well at all. >:/... We also have tablets available in the classroom to use so I think I might try it one day~! :9
I think, from the title of this tutorial, that the Olivia series will continue?! Or is it just a prediction of the valentine's day picture of Olivia at 16 years old?
Hey how is your break coming along? And that talk you had to give at the end of March? I hope you did well! April and May are the busiest months of the year from me for schoolwork.

Haha my computer is so slowwwww too, when I save a drawing, I need to wait 10 minutes !!!
I dotn know if the serie will continue, i need... time ^^
My break is finished ^^ april come, and I am back

Wowwww, that's how slow my old computer used to be!! I had to get a new one very recently, but whenever I saved something in Photoshop, it took so LONG. 5 minutes would have been quick, 7-12 was the average, and I usually left the computer after hitting "Save" to watch TV or get something to snack on because I knew it would take a while... -_-;
But I have a new computer now, haha. ^^ It turns out that a few electronic components in my computer had been... erm, overheated? Or something. The fan in my computer broke. So I ended up just getting a new one because the other one was 6 years old anyway, and Photoshop works MUCH quicker now. But... now I am having problems with my computer mouse.
>_<
Computer troubles. =_=;; So frustrating!! And they never end! I always have trouble with computers. >:/ Even at school, my computer logs me out for no apparent reason, and PS constantly crashes when I help others with their art projects, etc.

Wow, amazing tutoiral, and you're right, the truck texture, before the last change was a nicer, smoother one, but like always, it's good to find mistakes than none. Just one puzzling question, I'm not very good with resolution, just wanted to know, how did the original 800x1200 become 5 times larger in the end? If you work straight from computer, do you have the resolution set to 300dpi?

Wow I really like how you went step by step to explain your thoughts and how you went about making "Feeding the Crows" I really liked this piece and I enjoyed reading this and learning how it was created/developed. True there's not a lot of tips but it's still cool... almost like a 'behind the sceens' type of deal but in reguards to art.

Just beautiful :]
Your tutorials are just so fun to read With all the little drawings and annotations. It feels very personal, rather than a very matter-of-fact-like "do this do that".
Actually, here's just a little note. I love Olivia's face, but this piece doesn't exactly feel more "depressing" than "Heavy hearted". More physically painful, yes. Just the thought of the crows pecking at something so tender and vulnerable. But it's not depression that I read from her expression :] more like... indifference. Or maybe the depression comes from that, I don't know
All the same it's a beautiful piece; all your works are, and I love this Olivia series. And yes, again, I love this tutorial <3 thanks for sharing.

Woahhh... merci, this tutorial is very helpful. ;o I've just started fiddling with photoshop again... I had made pictures on photoshop before, but since most tutorials on the internet are in English, and my photoshop is in Swedish (and argh, I don't know how to change the language...) it's really hard to know which tools to use... so I never realized how important layers are, and always ended up ruining my images. But now I've finally started working with layers and stuffff. This is really, really, really helpful. I hope I'll be as good at drawing on photoshop as you one day... but I probably won't, 'cause I suck. Le sniff.
