Here a short description I made of them. Just ask if this didn't answer any of your questions.
"About ten feet (2m) long, and 220 kg. This creature evolved in the cold northern hemisphere of it's planet. In the stone age they lived in burrows dug into the permafrost, but they've abandon that long ago. They have two genders, but the egg needs genetic material from two fathers, so each one has three parents, a mother and two fathers (would this work?). The skin has basic chromatophores that can alternate between black and white. The fur acts as optic fibers, so they can switch between black and white instantaneously for hunting or warming up. Over the thousands of years of civilization, they're hair and claws have grown shorter because they now really on tools. "
