Totally just realized I never uploaded this here.Here's the G1 Exceed outfitted for ground combat, with a focus on ranged combat. Weapons include an air burst cannon for maximum devastation against multiple targets, a beam bazooka with a built-in beam gatling cannon, multiple micro missile launchers and skirt-mounted rail cannons with anchor launchers. Has the Exceed's default head-mounted anti-air vulcans, as well as a pair of anti-armor vulcans in its chest. Beam sabers are mounted to its arms for close combat, which can also double as beam guns. It has a high-precision radar and sensor on its back inspired by some of the types you see on beam smart guns from MSG that help improve its accuracy with the beam bazooka, but most ideally the air burst cannon on its back.

I am a fan of mech designs so I am going to be harsh in my criticisms.Β Overall I like the mech but I think the weapons are a bit to complicated.
I am a strict advocate of the KISS doctrine of weapon design.
A beam cannon with beam gatling in my opinion is an overbuilt and over designed weapon.Β I also don't like the idea of a beam gatling because gatling guns IRL are deigned for cartage weapons propelled by expanding gasses.Β Also the beam gatling looks like it would be ineffective (If the beam cannon is 240m the beam gatling looks like it is 20mmx6.Β
A variable output beam cannon or a tri-barrel (multi barrel) auto-beam cannon would be more immersion in my opinion.Β Beam weapons in my opinion should have no moving parts to operate, this can make them easier to maintain and you can stuff them with equipment for efficient operations.
The airburst cannon is nice but I think it is too armored for its own good.Β A barrel and a scope is.
The mech itself looks good but the weapons in my opinion are not optimized for combat, I mean they look like they are mostly for show.

Measuring the hand-held weapon... the barrel is about 550mm in diameter. Each barrel for the beam gatling is about 99mm in diameter. The airburst cannon is about 460mm in diameter.
.... think I need to properly measure these next time. I could've sworn I had given them more accurate sizes. I guess I must've resized them at some point to all fit proper with the frame.
I agree the beam bazooka w/ gatling is pretty showy. It was one of those "I saw this in an anime, I totally wanna make this for my mecha!" type of things. The beam bazooka would be slow to charge, so it was more or less the beam gatling, which would run on a separate power source, would be used as a deterrent and not as a primary weapon with regards to stalling opponents before the next charge for the bazooka was ready.
As for the over the shoulder weapon, I had initially intended that to be something akin to a buster rifle-type weapon, but ultimately turned it into a shell firing weapon. I ended up liking the design of the cannon so I kept it, rather than reducing the size. I figure it can be some sort of multi-launcher, designed to fire more than just its basic payload.

If the shoulder mounted weapon is a cannon type, I suggest you add a muzzle device as the recoil of a 460mm cannon can topple the unit every time it fires.Β Even if it is a low velocity round specifically because of where it is located and how the recoil is absorbed.
This also falls into another of my mech design irritations, Over caliber weapons.Β Sure they look imposing but once you start examining them with math, the recoil is more than enough to topple the mech or the implied power drain will cripple the design.
I have one more question... It looks like the cannon has to be charged while in the hand.Β Why is that necessary?Β Couldn't it be charged while not in the hand?Β This would enable the use of a second weapon (IE a PDW style weapon).
