Description
An illustration for a fic that was written as a gift for my dear friend HaganeNeko. The fic is by ibshafer and can be read on LJ at [link] .This derivative fan art is based on the work of Hiromu Arakawa and all rights are reserved to Fullmetal Alchemist (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) © Hiromu Arakawa // Square/Enix.

Additional notes: Since putting up this piece, a lot has happened with it. First, it won first place in the FMABrotherhood group's FMA Day Contest ([link] ) and then it was chosen for the second volume of the dA Rangers Art Book Project ([link] ) - and it got a whole page to itself! - [link] What's even more amazing is that, when presented with the book at a convention in Hawaii, Vic Mignogna opened it up to this picture first! [link]
I couldn't be more pleased and it's all due to SpeedyAlchemist and the lovely folks over at the The-dA-Ranger-group.

I think if Arakawa had let them kiss, it would have been even better - that's why I drew this. I'm glad you agree, a kiss is definitely more fun than a hug.

I do love them too and enjoy drawing them. This piece was recently used in a book the DA Rangers put together to give to Vic himself at a convention in Hawaii - they gave this picture a full page to itself! I was absolutely astonished and, of course, thrilled!

Yes, both - It was a labor of love for a friend and a pleasure to do for her. I don't think the coat came out quite as well as the sheets of another piece I did, but I messed with it until I was happier with it and then just let it go. I wasn't able to find quite the right coat and light to draw it from so I had to fudge it some.

Well, the story this illustrates is set after he returns - hence the title 'For Good', but I agree, I wish they'd shown them kissing - it would have been lovely. *sigh*
