Greetings Sir, this is a wonderful map and I wish to purchase it for a genealogy workshop presentation about researching German roots in Eastern Europe. Mine German ancestors came from the Böhmerwald now in the Czech republic, and they moved to Hungary, now Croatia, then the next generation went to America to where I am today. I need assistance how to purchase it because I could not buy points to get a copy of this map even though my credit cards are in good order. Is there another way to do this? Also, if you have something relating to the Böhmerwald maps, that would be great. Ancestral towns there were: Schönberg, Böhmisch-Röhren, Wallern, and Prachatitz. Regards, Eric Spanbauer

I looked it up, it was called Katharinenfeld not Luxemburg.
But I have an idea why you heard this name. Luxemburg was a communist woman revoluzzer in Germany,
and they might have used her name^^

What sort of time period does this cover?, I mean there were German traders in eastern Europe during the medieval period especially Saxons and there were German craftsmen invited into the Russian empire during Tsarist times in an attempt to modernize Russia when Peter and Catherine ruled.

I was wondering if you would be interested in creating a map showing Germany's plans for expansion in eastern Europe in World War II. I've heard several different ideas of what the border would be, I would be very interested to see what your research would bring up on the subject.

because the plans changed every year:

Very cute and interesting map! I guess you have pointed out places where Germans lived but, in some cases, being a minority... In Latin Europe we have not ethnic national concepts, so Germanic people learned our languages and became integrated into our societies...

Thanks a lot and yes I did^^
If I google your countries wiki says you have definitly ethnicities XD
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italians
"Italians (Italian : italiani [itaˈljaːni] ) are a nation and ethnic group native to Italy who share a common culture , ancestry and speak the Italian language as a native tongue."
We also integrated slavic and romanic people into our society

English wikipedia, so Anglo-Saxon point of view. I've also read texts about ethnicities in Spain and they are very funny. If you come here and talk about Catalan ethnicity, you will get lots of laughs... XD We only talk about gypsic ethnicity because of they are different phisically...

There are different ways to define ethnicity. Heritage, religion, culture and language etc.
So I would say Italians are definitly an ethnicity for example.

We have the word "etnia" in Spanish being a politically corrected version of "raza" (race). Anyway, historically, people have been integrated into our societies, Germanic visigoths, for example. However, I see different communities kept different through centuries in central and eastern Europe. That happend because of you had an excluyent tribal mind, we were part of a diverse empire. I hope you don't get angry but I think that's the truth.

I don´t get angry XD
But I doubt the visigoths had such a massive impact that your ethnicity really noticed it.

You can look over history of USA, South Africa, Australia... countries colonized by Germanic people, what happened to aboriginal people and, in the other hand, Latin America, where Latin European people mixed with natives leading to current huge mixed-race population. You also have the example of Alsace and Alto Adige, nobody talks about a German minority in France and Italy but about French and Italian people who speak German language. In Latin countries, important thing is where you were born, not who were your ancestors...

Bessarabien glaube ich, weil es nicht von Katharina der Großen ausging, sondern von Österreich
und bei der Krim vllt. einfach weil es so eine markante Halbinsel ist^^
