This is my first planet tutorial and also my first planet I made with the 3D mode of Photoshop,
but I will maybe do another tutorial with the "traditional technique". I won´t submit this tutorial
to any groups at first, because I would at first you to test it! Give me feedback which steps are
unclear, if you need more screenshots or any other corrections and I will correct it.
Sorry my Photoshop is in German (2015 version), but I wrote the whole text in English and the
commands/ tools are all at the same spot of the programm. If it is too unclear I will write the
english name over the german one.
I tried to add also some basic commands (all the ctrl+XXX commands), because I don´t know
how much you´re used to Photoshop, but you can also do most of them manuell with rightclick
and the command selection there.

Except the 3D mode you should be able to do the same yes.
But the commands and tools will work differently and have other names.

GIMP has 3D mode
But it doesn't have some layer modes and things like "outer glow"

Agree. Though I consider that PS is made for photos and such digital things like planets (and also animations, GIMP cannot into normal animations), but GIMP is for drawings. I made my icon's flag in PS and it was soooo uncomfortable!

It didn´t work, for the cloud problem I find only a solution
in other photoshop versions, but you can still do it, just don´t look at the backside XD
