I've been playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and decided to do some chibi portraits of the characters therein, inspired largely by *bleedingcrow's [link]The plesioth, commonly known as Plessy, is a large, semi-aquatic wyvern that eats frogs. I find them quite irritating because when they're in the water (which is over half the time) you can't hit them with melee weapons. Favouring the hammer, and completely avoiding ranged weapons, this vexes me to no end. >
In any case, I based the anatomy here on older tadpoles. Quite proud of this one and will offer prints if there is interest, since the resolution's high enough to make decent sizes possible.
Done in copics on bristol board, then fixed up a bit in Fireworks.

There are a couple more in my gallery; I've been planning to do more, but I'm not sure if I will, since they take so much time and unfortunately it would be in a legal/illegal grey area to sell prints.

I've done some of my own drawings by paint so I've no got copyright to worry about it feels much easier

A few hours here and there while working on a piece are great fun. These things take 20+ hours, though. XD

My painted drawings are completely made up so copyright isn't an issue, although if you try drawing something already made by someone else isn't there a possible copyright worry to that?

Wait, you DID mean that using paints exempts you from copyright restrictions? If so, I'm afraid that you're mistaken. Copyright laws apply regardless of what medium you're using. If you're making a copy, fanart, or a derivative work based on someone else's stuff you have to worry about copyright.
In this case I've made a fanart that is both a derivative and a transformative work. Derivative works are infringing on the original copyright holder and thus illegal. By changing almost everything about the depicted character, and making the audience look on it in a different light (cute vs scary thing to kill) the picture becomes transformative. Which is a legal grey area in the fair use policy. You might be able to argue that it constitutes a parody, which is considered fair use in the US. Unfortunately, I live in Canada, where fair use isn't very well defined and parody doesn't count as an expression thereof.
