True, that's what happened in the Archie comic. I used to read those way back when. I read fairly consistently until the low 100s

Eggman most recently relaunched the Death Egg and managed to roboticize Sally. Meanwhile Ixis Naugus has taken over New Mobotropolis, making good on King Max's promise (even though Max wasn't thinking straight when he made the promise).

Sonic SatAM was without a doubt one of the best cartoons I ever watched as a kid, and you know what? I still think it holds up today, especially when you compare it to the kinds of cartoons kids are being force-fed nowadays.
It had a good dark atmosphere. The characters were fleshed out. The villain was intimidating and threatening (which isn't easy given his voice" and they managed to have an epic inter-connected storyline that didn't talk down to it's audience like so many other kid's shows do.
PLus, on top of all that, it was an adaptation of a video game that was actually GOOD! How many times can you honestly say that about any adaptation of a video game?
And what did they do with this gem of a cartoon? Thet threw it away. They threw away the best story Sonic will ever be in. Building our hopes and expectation on an epic cliffhanger, only to spit in our faces and cancell it afterwards.
I don't know who ran Dic Entertainment at the time, or if they're still around, but they need a stern talking to over this.

Technically the show was cancelled by a network, not its creators. However, then there's the issue of the fact that they later made Sonic Underground instead of a continuation...

Very impressive. I think the only thing off about him is that his moustache doesn't appear to be wide enough - I'll have to re-watch the series again (any excuse ^_^ ) to be sure, however. Thumbs up and Kudos from me.

If I can only design foliage and aztec architecture as well as you can make characters, my new game will be a great success lol. I've watched a lot of tutorials thanks to you and have learned a lot, though 3DS max has a high price tag, so I am saving up ^^

This is what I was hoping sonic video games would have ended up looking like. The SatAm stuff and the Archie comics especially had so much more style than every sonic game from 1999 onwards.

The older Robotnik is a great deal more intimidating to me than the newer, but since I'm not a Sonic fan I could be wrong, not knowing the difference in actions...
