Heres my work in progress on robotnik...Im getting an annoying seem down the middle where I mirrored the UV's...gota fix it......lesson learned - never mirror down the middle, dohRelated content

Ah so this is the WIP. The mustache here looks real good.
Oi, I hate looking at those pieces from 3D art. It looks like he's been skinned. But it's good to see just how it was made.

i find that you should typically ignore that unless it shows up when you export into a game engine. they usually have some code snippet somewhere that fixes that once its actually in a game. doom and HL2 being good examples, looks awesome keep up the good work!

yea, when I applied my direct x shader, the seems went away! but when I use mental ray to render it rears its ugly face....owell, and thanks everyone!!

well the easiest way to fix it in max or maya is to take the mirrored geometry and invert the normals and have the surface be double sided or create a second shader and invert the normal map so that they match up on the mirrored surface. unfortunately thats the best your going to get with the exception of writing a custom normal map shader for mirrored surfaced (if you do i'd like to get my hands on it lol)
