Description
Was asked to do a re-design concept of Godzilla for some folks who wanna make a short series of movies.I was supposed to make him look seriously evil, and I think it turned out pretty well. ^_^

Ooh, really dark and scary, it kind of looks like you took Godzilla in the direction that Peter Jackson did with King Kong, really awesome and frightening!

This is definatly one of the best redesigns I've ever seen for the G-Man. I know other people have pointed it out, but this Godzilla is a nicely done blending of multipul versions of Godzilla, including the '98 American movie, which...the script really killed...and the acting, if you could call it that.
I can't say that I like the bleeding eyes. It just seems...over done. And the necrosing flesh just gives it to much of a Zombie-Zilla feel.
I don't really see Godzilla as an evil force, even in GMK in which he was depicted as a force bent on the destruction of Japan. Godzilla is more off a reactive force that lashes out when attacked.
While naturally destructive, the damage incured by Godzilla's rampages are always greatly increased when he becomes enraged by an attacking force, which are typically the ants that scurry about his feet.
Godzilla could also be seen as a Karmatic (is that a word?) force, repaying all the damage of suffering inflicted upon the natural enviorment by mankind.

Well I think of it this way. Godzilla is angered by humans, he follows humans underwater to the city. He thinks that this is a wonderful little place to make into his new home, but the current residents aren't too happy with that. They attack him, he attacks back ten times as hard. so yeah, Karmatic if you will.
The design criteria I gave to Bludgeon589 to send to Art-Minion-Andrew0 was that Godzilla needs to look angry, and I mean super-mad. He also needs to have some radiation effects on him. I guess the "angry" got interpreted by Blugeon589 as "evil"

I'm a big fan of Clover and Godzilla, but I gotta say that this fella would seriously rape the s*** out of Clover. Your revamped version of Godzilla is bad-ass, dude. Adding this to my favorites. Kick-ass, dude.

You know, honestly, I'm not a fan of it. To me Godzilla will never be evil, and I really hate seeing him as such.
But of course, since this wasn't your idea, I think it turned out fairly nicely. It certainly looks evil - which I hate - but within the given guidelines, I think you played it nicely enough.

But my preferences aside, I still don't like Godzilla portrayed as an evil being because he's not supposed to be. He's an entirely unbiased force of nature, and giving him that malevolence just makes him.... not Godzilla, as far as I'm concerned.

I agree on the un-biased force of nature part, but their project is more of a throwback to the priginal concept of him being a personification of the horrors and "evil" of the atomic bomb.

He's manmade, but he was an accident. He's portrayed as a force of nature specifically based on punishing mankind.
In any instance, he's not evil.

It's amazingly well done, but I think it kind of looks more like a zombie Godzilla instead of a ture-evil Godzilla. Nevertheless, the linework and colors are amazing and the concept is stunning. Good job.

truly a magnificent peice of artwork. love the redisign. makes it more agile, but keeps with the original iconic image of godzilla. great pose, the creature truly looks like something out of hell. excellent work.
