Oh, she looks so soulful! And I hate to take away from the work on the character (massive details on all the clothes, omg) but that background is epic. The carpet patterns!!!

Nah. I've tried painting bgs and even with reference I suck. Even when I'm just using a filter over it, I suck. My admiration for your work does not end!

heehee! well thank you again. ^^ I get a lot of practice doing photo manipulation stuff at work, but here it's pretty much just overlaying different blending effects and blurs and such (and gradient layer masks! those are so much fun! xD). And then I painted over some of the jaggy rendering lines to smooth it out.
Someday I swear I will attempt to paint an actual background myself, but going by how convenient pre-rendered screenshots are how long I've postponed it so far and my leet procrastination skills... uh... don't hold your breath. x3
