Description My first like, fully completed digi painting (usually I scrap them halfway and cry )! Its of my mage PC Moghedian from the game Dragon Age: Origins. For those not familiar with the game, mages are locked away in this tower "for their protection" as magic's feared in the world. This is kind of a take on the starting armor for the game, but I made it a lil' cuter because I hate how unflattering it looks on the fem bods =\

I like it a lot. You have a great style which would be very suitable for digitally painted comics.

Wow. I really enjoy your comics and doodles but this has blown me away. I really love the way the light of the sun shines in through the window to illuminate her skin She looks so frail and delicate, a tiny porcelain doll who can sneeze and explode your face! The way the darkness of the tower vs the light of the entire world waiting on the other side of the glass is very heavy with meaning, at least for me. I love the mage origin and feel for the plight of the mages. And I totally agree with your feelings regarding those mage outfits the are not very flattering, I prefer your modifications.

Since you have requested critique, I'm gonna take the liberty to give you one. Actually, the only thing that I have to mention is her face: it seems a bit off; maybe it's the angle, or it's that it's a bit to the left... but I'm totally just saying. It may be just me that sees things where there is nothing .

On the other hand, I must say that this painting is insanely beautiful! The coloring is fabulous and the shading is superb, I ask for a tutorial or a wip so I can learn from you! > It's fantastic that you managed to fully complete a painting for once (But I'm sure the halfway ones weren't that bad anyway!). I want to see more of these!

From Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, though she bears no actual relation in personality/appearance to her namesake. But yeah, that guy made some sweet names and I happen to like to steal names for my RPG characters XD

Hey, if ya want another great series with some good (and slightly more usable) names, check out anything done by Brandon Sanderson, specifically Mistborn and Warbreaker.

As far as the picture, it's beautiful. Love Mystic Revolution, glad I was able to finally track you down on dA. (And super-bonus points for liking Wheel of Time)

oooh nice, the robe IS a lot more flattering. Great details on the hand, and the blush on her cheeks/nose... lovely idea and great job lighting it--really got the concept of being a mage in the Circle across well.

I read your comics featuring your warden first and when I saw this one I thought: it's so her. Your warden's a very cute character. I like how she's enjoying the sunrise/set for what it is, warm and beautiful. We on this side can think about her fate in the tower ourselves, that being the cold, blue light behind her...

I loved the black and white of this back on the bioware forums. Just that longing look with the concept of the grass is greener on the other side. The color is just amazing and I really love what you did with the mage robes. They were bland in the game hehe.

Great job couz, I'm digging the softness of the piece. I may have upped the "glow" effect given off the window, so it looks more hazy around the defined edges (dreamlike), but only subtly... The hard edges on the window frames seems to distract from the character a tiny bit, which doesn't have a whole lotta clashing edges and black/near-white mixes. Eh, I'm being nit-picky, as somethin like this woulda probably taken me DAYS to flesh out and draw...

Course, I woulda been doing it in Charcoal, too, so lotsa "fuzzy glowy" edges

Ugh, charcoal. Do NOT miss those days XD

And when the light's super bright around the windows it makes the dark parts...darker XD. See, the darker the edges you have around something, the more bright the highlight looks (and I had a photo ref ). I also wanted to emphasize that the bars on the windows were kinda cage-like.

I only have 2 things to point out.

The stone looks...off to me cant quite put my finger on how or why.

Well, there's a slightly upward perspective going on w/ the stones, so that's prolly why the stones look kinda weird. It may be off a lil, I'll have to check my guidelines again, but as the teachers at school used to say 'If something's funny-looking to someone, you haven't done your job!' so thanks!

And the premi-only critique thing is kinda lame--I can understand only allowing premi members to request critiques, but everyone should be allowed to post one so that way you get the most well rounded crit =\

This is astoundingly beautiful. I love the story of the mages, and this captures their seclusion so well. I can just sense her imagining freedom and wanting to be out in the sunlight.

I really love the changes you made to the robes; I wasn't a big fan of the ones in the game.
