Fanart for the soon-to-be-released Dragon Age dlc Return to Ostigar [link]Basically, I was totally inspired by 's RTO take here [link] that I decided to my own, kinda darker version. Basically, the idea was to show them all kinda heading over there, when the PC stops for a sec because she senses....something. Alistair is lost in memories, and Morrigan is just kinda like, "Why the fuck are we here, really? Its cold." I was gonna have Leliana in it too, but alas, ran out of room. Alistair's cloak design was stolen/borrowed from Aimo, and Morrigan's is based off her concept art, though I made it so she's wearing feathery long sleeves (I really kinda like this look, so I think I'll draw it out separately later).
Anyways, I'm not entirely sure I like it the way it is yet or not, but I figured I'd post it anyway since the dlc comes out tomorrow. But yeah, this is it nearly-almost-done! XD

I think this is the first game I've ever played that handles the post-traumatic stress caused by returning to a place of battle.

Wow. So has DAO surpassed Baulder's Gate for you as far as the Greatest RPG goes? Also I am hooked. I have to finish the dwarven mission and then I am headed to landsmeet I guess.

Nono, I still thing Baldur's Gate II is the Greatest RPG of All Time, but DAO's closer to it in Awesome thank anything else I've played in the last 10 years =X The main thing is just that Baldur's Gate had so many awesome, non-plot oriented sidequests, so you really got thrust into the world and its culture wholeheartedly. With DAO, though the plot quests and the companion quests are AWESOME, because you don't have the random quests like, the Skinner's quest or the Eyeless Cult, I don't feel like there's as much of a giant world I can get lost in.
HOWEVER, they have stated that there's going to be 2 years of dlc coming, not to mention the expansion they just announced, so perhaps this will change.

Haha, well, the portrait stuff and this piece are all just me fiddling with developing a new style for painterly stuff. Since MR's style is too cartooney for a painterly approach and I'm too lazy to develop something totally new for just an excercise, its dao! XD
