Description
This has problems. I was so anxious to get back to doing art I don't think I spent enough time thinking it through. Ink and prismacolor. Originally it was meant to be ink only. There will be more dragons with scales and spikes in the future, and probably be another in this pose, but with a different tail. Taking all advice offered.

Thanks. I will leave this one alone. But I'll try a new version or two. For one reason I meant it to be a gift for a friend and I don't want to give him one I'm not happy with.

Read my journal and the link included and also read [link] Make sure you read his current journal and the 4 before the current one. That should give you a beginning. Also look up and read his last few journals. I respect his judgement on things, and he is a professional artist

Well, *busting my sides laughing* I took care of the "mature content" problem. Don't know how that got in there!
I debated whether to include all of the wings. I feel the thumb has disappeared in the shadow and looks too high and small. The tail is too 'fat' and I decided I didn't like the twitch. Originally it was supposed to be all black ink on a white paper. I couldn't get enough line variation with one ink pen, so I added the color, but it really wasn't exactly right and then I added some ink by paintbrush to get some heavier accents. I sound a little confused here, don't I?

I want you to understand this. It looks like they can do whatever they want with our art and we can't do squat. Hiding our art is a way of showing the Administration of what DA would be without us. W're trying to force them to rewrite the Submission Agreement and to deal with some of the other issues and changes planned. It means we are standing together for our rights. It's temporary. We're not turning it into a chat room. We're trying to say we won't stand for this in the only way we can. We are exercising a fundamental American right. We are demonstrating. If you want to participate you can do it for a week and then open it back up. It doesn't mean you have to leave the way some of us are prepared to do if improvements aren't made. .........you're my friend either way

I think it's beautiful! It appears to be iridescent. That's amazing that you got that affect with colored pencils. Excellent work!

It was supposed to be all ink at first then I decided to try color......I was going for irridescent, but then grass and ground and sky aren't............. some of the colors were actually irridescent colored pencil and I just varied the shades close together!!

The color was an after thought and was supposed to look lightly tinted as in an etching on foil paper, but...............

It looks like you refered to a photo to draw this. Beautiful drawing and such a skill to make all your imaginations come true. I might want to add some depth to the background in case you ask me.

Thanks for you nice comments. The background was another afterthought, the same as the color and needed more planning in the beginning. It had been 2 or 3 months since I had had time to draw or paint and I really wanted to get back to it and wanted to try out the new look for dragons for me so I rushed into it. I'm glad it turned out as well as it did and I really appreciate people taking time to make comments and suggestions. It helps me decide where to go from here with this idea.
