I really like the texture of her hair and the mysterious book bundle inside! The contrast of earthy and sky color works for me too.

Mixed media takes your work to different places.

This opens up many new possibilities, yes?

I love it!

Always open to new possibilities............the path of the artist is littered with red herrings...and blue ones, green, yellow............

Well......Thank you!
You might be surprised to learn that this piece was bought by a magistrate!

Yeah, thanks.....It was good - he bought two pieces. I shouldn't generalize, but I don't normally associate the judiciary with artistic appreciation! I don't know what it is like where you live, but here it is bloody hard to make a living from making art, so sales are always welcome.

I just quit my full time job, partly so I'd be able to do art again at all, and yes, it's extremely hard to make a living from making art... It's reassuring to hear that not only does the judiciary in Australia have an interest in art, but at least one of them also has good taste...

I still work part-time in a high school art department, but have plenty of time to pursue my own practise. I manage to keep the wolf away. But I seem to find myself with this perpetual dilemma: I need to sell work to pay bills, but I'd really like to have a solo exhibition, which means hanging onto work for quite a long period of time. I don't ever seem to be able to amass a body of work large enough for an exhibition: a real catch 22 - I guess the answer is to work twice as hard, and not be online so much!

That must be it, alright; I think we're all going through a time where it's really hard to find the right balance...
