Description For this image I wanted a room with a warm, cozy, friendly light, where you could isolate from the rest of the world but still be in contact with nature.

Full size view is recommended to better appreciate the details.

Rendered in Vue.

EDIT: suggested to make the water more transparent. Some time later, comment went in a similar direction. So, I decided to render the scene again with a more transparent water. It does look better. Thanks for your hints!

This is like a place I'd love to have when I grow old. Where I can just sit with my book and let hours tick by with no cares in the world...

Hi Arthur, the feel of the warm atmosphere is wonderful. All the details, the lighting and the shadows perfectly balanced. However I feel that the water could have little bit more transparency to give it more physical as well as atmospheric depth which will add to the overall feel of this wonderful composition.
One other thing, the golden statue could perhaps add a contrast and subtle focus point if it had a some kind of bluish metal or even a blue marble texture. What do you think? One last point, is it hard to add some ripples on the water surface? (of course caused by the 'waterfall' from the jug)
Thanks for sharing your Art! Always look forward to your new creations and very much enjoy your creativity.
Peace n Creativity

Thanks for the insightful comment. Let me try to address each one of your topics:
- More transparent water: yes, that could be a good idea. I will give it a try.
- Blueish metal for the statue: I tried many different materials for the statue, including blue marble (and purple, white, green, wood, ...). The problem with any of these colors is that it somehow breaks the mood, it creates an "intruder", something that doesn't seem to belong there. In the case of cold colors, such as blue, it even "cools" down the warm mood, and that's not what I wanted. In the end, I opted for a shiny orange surface because it matches well the mood and it also contrasts somehow with its background (I tried simple orange marble and the contrast was terrible). So, all things considered and tested in reality, that material was the one that fitted most for my intentions and my aesthetics.
- Ripples in the water: there are some subtle ripples there, if you look closely. If you look carefully, the water flow from the vase is not like a waterfall, it's a smooth flow, like from a water tap. The ripples are smoothed by the distance and so near the camera they are very low. Exactly below the water flow, I put lot more turbulence but that doesn't show because of the small impurities in the water surface and because of the way the light hits the water.

Again, thanks for your comment.

I'm rendering now another version with a more transparent water. When I have some result I'll let you know. Because tomorrow is monday and this week won't be easy in my real life job, this could take until the next weekend.
