Love it. The serenity in this is very pleasant. Do the flasks change shape as the trees grow?

Great idea - an ad agency should pick this up - 'products tailored to the environment' sort of message. Really goo.

I love the idea, I have sometimes thought about doing something like this I think the blinds and their shadows was a very interesting touch but still makes the tree-bottles a bit hard to appreciate. But it also provides a good pattern in the refraction of the glass. I love the warped shape of the palm tree bottle

ArthurBlue In reply to Chromattix [2010-11-10 23:13:52 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!
The intention of the blinds was exactly to see the refraction patterns, as you guessed. I thought it would be more interesting than a flat background and it also helps to give a more intimate feeling, like a real room of someone, thus helping to immerse the viewer in the scene. That was my hope, anyway.

Impressive work! Using Z-brush to make the glass-ware was innovative. Usually Z-brush is used to make weird characters and such that all look alike. I like to see it used for something more prosaic.

So to speak! This is as prosaic as you get, I think! Great work.

I think you're right about Zbrush and monsters. I'm really fed up of seeing so many monsters in Zbrush galleries. Why talented people prefer, in big numbers, to make so many ugly beasts instead of creating beauty, is beyond me. The world is full of ugliness already, why create some more? Maybe it's just easier to create ugliness than beauty...

Joelglaine In reply to ArthurBlue [2010-11-11 00:32:53 +0000 UTC]

I think it's the same kind of mind as what poser suffered from for years. It might be the Z-brush version of the "Naked Vicky in a temple with a sword"? Just because someone spent thousands on the app, doesn't mean that that same person has an IDEA to use it with! I'm not saying they can't use it, or doesn't have an idea on HOW to use it. To do art... one needs an idea. THEN one uses the app to bring it to life.

I'm gad to see some people using various apps to create beauty. Like you.

Chromattix In reply to ArthurBlue [2010-11-11 00:21:29 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I suppose many hope they can get jobs modelling monster characters for movies, games and so-on (they will always be in high demand there ) But I personally only like "pretty things" myself too so I don't quite get the fascination with them
