Description
For this image I wanted a room with a warm, cozy, friendly light, where you could isolate from the rest of the world but still be in contact with nature.Full size view is recommended to better appreciate the details.
Rendered in Vue.
EDIT: suggested to make the water more transparent. Some time later, comment went in a similar direction. So, I decided to render the scene again with a more transparent water. It does look better.
EDIT: this image has now a companion:

No, the scene was built and rendered in Vue. The statue and the pond border were made in Zbrush and imported into Vue. The building is a modified version of a freebie I got from geekatplay.

Yes, I would like to have a real place like this too. At least in our minds we can.

Amazing details & lighting as always! I'd prefer bit more contrast perhaps! But that's me!

Thanks!
I know what you mean about the contrast. I did try many (many!) different kinds of lighting for this image. In order to have more contrast, I would lose a bit of the light dispersion that I wanted. I wanted a feeling that the room was immersed in light. That's not very compatible (or at least I couldn't do it) with more contrast. Maybe when I know more about Vue I'll be able to do it.

You don't need to do it in Vue itself! What's Photoshop for??
I always like darker shadows, makes images more appealing to me, but as I said that's just me!

To be honest, I know almost nothing about photoshop...
Anyway, in this particular image I didn't really want dark shadows (more contrast yes but not dark shadows). There are moments for dark shadows but that wasn't one of these moments.

beautiful scene! love the cat... and all the other details. Even though this is a great render, I would have loved to have seen this rendered in Lux!

Thanks. Glad you noticed the cat.
I know what you mean about Lux. I've seen amazing renders from Lux. Unfortunately, I don't have it and I know nothing about it and I'm not sure if this scene would be compatible with it because there are several procedural materials here and some Vue ecosystems (overall this scene has 116 million polygons).

It's really interesting, that's something I hear a lot for many of my images: people saying that they had a dream similar to one of my images. Maybe all our dreams are connected somehow.

That would be really cool. My dream was to do with a garden and i'm sure your picture connects part of it.
