I know a very good excersize for color blending practice taught in my 3rd year art class.. the 3 colored pencils portrait. Basically, you get a red, blue, and yellow pencil crayon. Using only these 3 colors, the artist renders an accurately colored self portrait *but any old portrait works fine with this excersize too*

So skin for example should still look peach or tan by mixing the proper amounts of red, yellow and blue. It's not going to be perfect in shadow and highlight since you can't use black or white. But the goal is to get the artist to learn to mix colors as accurately as possible to the colors of the subject being drawn by using ONLY primary colors.

It's very time consuming and it requires a lot of patience x3! The 3 colors have to be applied in really thin layers and built up gradually. So the excersize is NOT recommended for those short of patience XD

Glad you liked the idea Have fun drawing it and lemme know when you're done cuz I wanna see!
